At the end of March, Sunday the 29th to be exact, the first edition of Sciacchetrail will be held.   It is a trail running race along the trails of the Cinqueterre…between the sea and the sky, through vineyards, olive groves and Mediterranean maquis shrubland. To celebrate our reopening in season 2014 and the full restyling of our website we’ll tell you a story… We were at the beginning of our small business,it could be something like ..let’s say 2001.. shortly before the “Euro revolution”(!); we were still in a golden age ( unfortunately we did’nt know.. ) and competition on the web was much easier. The Sanctuaries way

Ogni paese ha il suo Santuario, al quale gli abitanti sono legati da profonda devozione. Sono raggiunti da strade carrozzabili, eccetto quello di Riomaggiore, ma potrete prendere il trenino a cremagliera che, inoltrandosi tra i vigneti e la macchia mediterranea, vi porterà a destinazione. Altrimenti potete andarci a piedi inerpicandovi per i sentieri di collegamento. Il panorama è stupendo e la vista spazia sull’intero golfo. Sono passeggiate un po’ faticose ma non richiedono nè l’attrezzatura, nè l’allenamento degli alpinisti. The high path number 1

This is known as the Cinque Terre’s High Road or La Spezia’s C.A.I.’s n°1 path: a footpath that begins in Portovenere and ends in Levanto. It begins at sea level (Portovenere) and reaches a height of 800 metres to then descend again to sea level (Levanto). It is forty or so kilometres long and one needs ten hours to complete it and, though it is tiring, anybody can do it.
